Special Memorial Day Service Planned Outside (Bring Your Lawn Chairs) May 27 9:30

Dont forget Sunday our Memorial Weekend Special Service is outside. (Bring Your Lawn Chairs) Join in the Bluegrass Service and speakers to include Pastor Daughtridge, and Bill Loughridge. We’ll have the annual Jacob’s church memorial role called, which is a list of soliers fallen and alive who have served to protect our nation’s freedom over the years but remembered on Memorial Day Sunday for many years. Service starts at 9:30 am . May 27th . Hope it doesnt rain but if is dose we’ll move inside. Weather man says no more rain until tomorrow evening. We should be OK. We’ll also be unfolding the 20′ x 40′ flag, gathering around it, and asking God’s blessing on our great nation and giving thanks for those fallen heroes that protected our freedom.

2018 Announcement

Memorial Day Weekend Service The Memorial Day service will be held May 27th.  The service will be held outside (weather permitting) with lunch to follow in the pavilion.  Please sign up if you are attending the luncheon.  Sign up sheets are on the table by the window. Following the 9:30 service on May 27, on we will begin our annual Memorial Day Role Call followed by taps. Then we will unfold our giant parade size flag used in a 911 prayer ceremony on the field at Smithsburg High School following the trade tower attack in 2001. Following a prayer for our nation by the representatives from each of branches of service and first responders we will have a short intermission and then have lunch together in the pavilion. Bring your lawn chairs and don’t forget to sign up for lunch so the ladies will have a count.
