Amenity #2 New Real Estate (NEW Heaven and New Earth)

Amenity #3 Social Life (Friends in Heaven )                                                                                                                                                                                                   “Your good reputation is eternal’

1 Corinthians 13:12 (KJV)  For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

Luke 16:9-10 (KJV)  And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.  He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

Amenity # 4 Protected from the Wrath of God

Matthew 24:21 (KJV) 21  For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

1 Thessalonians 5:9 (KJV)  For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

John 3:16-18 (KJV)  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Luke 21:36 (KJV)  Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 (KJV)  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Amenity #5 Worship

Revelation 5:13 (KJV) And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

Peeking Through the Gates of Heaven Sermon series by Pastor Richard Daughtridge “Heaven’s Amenities” “First Amenity of Heaven: Immortality”

Resurrection

I took this picture several years ago, while on vacation in Florida. The morning was calm, peaceful and reminded me of immortality We are presenting a sermon series our church that I’ve entitled “Peeking through the Gates of Heaven”.

What happens when we die?

What will Heaven look like?

Who will be there?

Will I have a new body?

The Bible says a great deal about the journey, the place, and the amenities we can look forward to enjoying there.

Join us this week as we look at the first amenity, Immortality. You may be surprised at what Christians can look forward to in Heaveen. Service begins at 9:30 AM on Sunday. Notes from bulletin below:

Peeking Through the Gates of Heaven  Sermon series by Pastor Richard Daughtridge “Heaven’s Amenities”First Amenity of Heaven: Immortality

Great minds and great people have searched for immortality. All the time it’s right there in the Bible free for the asking.

A sad conclusion of human brilliance. “I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects of his creation, …Neither can I believe that the individual survives the death of his body, although feeble souls harbor such thoughts through fear or   ridiculous egotism. ~ Albert Einstein, as quoted in his New York Times Obituary, April 19, 1955)

  1. Death’s enemy: Immortality (New Body and Resurrection)

1 Corinthians 15:51-56 (KJV) Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.  So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.  O death, where is thy sting?     Romans 8:21 (KJV)  Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

2 Peter 1:4 (KJV)  Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

2 Timothy 1:10 (KJV)  But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

  1. New Real Estate

2 Peter 3:12-13 (KJV)  Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?  Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Revelation 21:1-6 (KJV)  And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.  And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3  And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.  And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away

Ezekiel 28:13 (KJV) Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

John 14:2 – In my Father’s house are many mansions: if [it were] not [so], I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

Revelation 22:1-5 (KJV) And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
