Join Us AS We Remember The Heroes Of 911
This Sunday September 11, 2016 will be the 15th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center. We will honor the victims, heroes, and their families as we remember them in our prayers and words of condolences.
Let’s not forget to give a hearty thank you to their comrades, all the first responders, the fireman, the police, the soldiers and the medical staff in our lives today.
We also will worship and give thanks to God for keeping us safe through these days of evil aggression.
We, at Jacob’s Church, will be having a special Sunday service in which we will remember them.
Testimonies of that day will be shared by:
Dwayne Smith, who was part of the Secret Service Team that secured the White House on 911. He was assigned to protect the presidential family and the White House Staff and was on duty that day. He’ll share some of those memories.
Rori Cannon Daughtridge, now Pastor Daughtridge’s daughter-in law, did not go to work that day. She normally walked by the Trade Center but from the riverside in terror she watched the second plane crashed into the tower. Her future husband, Ryan, was in Africa calling everyone he knew to find out if she was alright. Though they we estranged for two years he knew the love of his life was somewhere near that Trade Center. Rori can tell the rest of the story.
Pastor Richard will sing ‘Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning.
The sermon for Sunday will be, “Out of the Rubble Stood a Cross” by Pastor Richard.
We will have a prayer for the families of the 911 tragedy, for the first responders that protect us today and for America, the nation we love.
Service will begin at 9:30 AM Directions 495 Harbaugh Valley Road just off Rt.16 between Blue Ridge Summit and Emmittsburg. Proceed east on Route 16 out of Waynesboro, after Blue Ridge Sportsman club turn right at next road. Church is just up the road on right. Look for sign on Rt.16 and Harbaugh Valley Road.
