I’ve always said that a man must first conquer his own soul before he can conquer the world. When you look in the mirror do you see faith or falsehood, a winner or a whiner?

We all would like to be better people. We all lead or follow. With so many conflicting instructions in the world Christians should all be leaders at your post. Today let’s look at the mirror of God’s Word in a sermon called the Profile of a Leader.

We all can be better. Today we examine our leadership.

  1. A Leader is under authority

Matthew 8 8-10    But the centurion said, “Lord, I am not worthy for You to come under my roof, but just say the word, and my servant will be healed. 9“For I also am a man under authority, with soldiers under me; and I say to this one, ‘Go!’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes, and to my slave, ‘Do this!’ and he does it.” 10Now when Jesus heard this, He marveled and said to those who were following, “Truly I say to you, I have not found such great faith with anyone in Israel.…

Philip. 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Matthew 28:20  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

  1. A Leader knows his enemy and knows his God.

1Samuel 17:4-7  A champion named Goliath, who was from Gath, came out of the Philistine camp. He was over nine feet tall.

3.  A Leader has heart

1Samuel 17:32 David said to Saul, “Let no one lose heart on account of this Philistine; your servant will go and fight him.”

1Samuel 17:50 So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him.

  1. A Leader must have resolve.

James 1:8  A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

1 Cor. 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

  1.  A Leader is  selfless. Philip. 2:4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
  2. A Leader leads by example.     Demand -V- Command

1 Tim. 1:16 Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

  1. A Leader is progressive Philip. 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
  2. A Leader values Team .

1 Cor. 12:12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

  1. Leader see beyond the Battle 2 Tim. 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
  2. A Leader values reward.

Matthew 25:23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

Sermon: Four Prayers that Jesus Prayed on Our Behalf ( We now see the answers) October 18,2015 by Pastor Richard Daughtridge

Sermon: Jesus’s prayers.

Let’s read in St.John Chapter 17 together. Verses 1-5

Jesus  gives  the state of his mission and reveals our mission.

Four Prayers that Jesus Prayed on Our Behalf ( We now see the answers)

1. Keeping Faith

John 10:28,29 “…and I will give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand. My Father Who has given them to me is greater than all and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.”

2. Protecting Faith

John 17:14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

Matt 28:19-20 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

3. Faith to Change

John 17:17-19 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. [18] As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. [19] And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

4. Unity Faith

John 17:22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

John 17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

John 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

Conclusion

Jude 1:3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
