2 Tim. 4:5-8 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. [6] For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. [7] I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: [8] Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
1. Identify with the Crucifixion  (Unrighteousness is consumed by righteousness.)
Galatians 2:20   I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

2. Identify with the Resurrection (Death is consumed by life.)  (I am Risen).
Romans 6:4    Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
3. Identify with the Kingdom  (Kingdom of Satan is conquered by the Kingdom of God.)
John 18:36  Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
Luke 22:29-30  And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me; [30] That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
4. Identify with the Word of God     (Powers of disbelief are disarmed by the Word of God)
Hebrews 4:12   For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
5. Identify with the Church (Church membership is collective ownership of the mission given by God.)
1 Cor. 14:26  How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
6. Identify with the  Body of Christ (War on a global scale must be fought globally.)
Romans 7:4  Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
7. Identify your Enemy – Friendly fire is an oxymoron and eventually turns into corporate annihilation.

2 Cor. 4:6   For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness.

Road Signs along My Christian Journey by Pastor Richard Daughtridge

road signStudy this picture and decide as a driver what you should do.

Can you remember your first driving test?

Our Christian life is a journey and it is very important that we understand  directions as we navigate through life.  We only get one shot at this journey.

These signs  would help chart our course.

Salvation , Baptism, Discipleship, Service, Death, Eternity

1. Salvation / Justification

To understand salvation you must understand justification.

Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

a. Hear

Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

b. Believe

Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

c. Receive

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

2. Baptism / Identification

Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

3.   Discipleship / Changing into the likeness of Christ (Process)

Matthew 28:18-20  And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. [19] Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: [20] Teaching things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. them to observe all

4.   Service

2 Cor. 5:18-19  And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; [19] To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

2 Cor. 5:20  Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

5.  Death

Philip. 1:21-24 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. [22] But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. [23] For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: [24] Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.

6.  Eternity

Rev. 22:12  And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

John 9:4  I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
