“Jesus Empowers Women With The Resurrection”

Today I’d like to continue our resurrection sermons by introducing seven Biblical ladies that honored our Lord before the cross, at the cross, and after the resurrection. There were many but today we will highlight only a few.  Next week, May 11th, we will honor our mothers by sharing the influence  of other Biblical women. Our Conclusion will be the  sermon next week. “The Hand that Rocks the Cradle”

John 20:15-16 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away. [16] Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master.

Mary Magdalene Lady of Controversy

John 18:20 Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing.

Luke 8:1-3 And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him, [2] And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, 1. Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils, [3] And 2. Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.

John 4:9-10   3. The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.  Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”

Matthew 27:55-61 And many women were there beholding afar off, which followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering unto him: [56] Among which was Mary Magdalene, and 4. Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the             5. mother of Zebedee’s children.

John 19:25-27 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus 6. Mary his mother, and his mother’s sister, 7. Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene. [26] When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! [27] Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.
