“Facts of Life” a sermon by Pastor Richard Daughtridge

We only get one shot at life. Here are three simple facts of life to consider. Take aim and make this shot count.

Psalm 138:5

Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the Lord: for great is the glory of the Lord.

Hosea 14:9

Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the Lord are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.

Three Facts of Life to Consider

Eternal  Destiny

2 Cor. 5:8

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

John 14:2-3

In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. [3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Hebrews 11:16

But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

Rev. 7:9

After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

Earthly Calling from  Heaven

 John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 1:12

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Ephes. 2:5

Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

Ephes. 2:8

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Romans 5:15

But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

John 15:4

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

Matthew 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Earthly Fellowship

Philip. 1:3-6

I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, [4] Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, [5] For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; [6] Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Hebrews 10:25

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
