“How to pray about your problems.” Sermon by Pastor Richard Daughtridge

“Prayer should be as natural to a Christian as breathing air.”

Neh. 1:6   Let thine ear now be attentive, and  thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father’s house have sinned.

Neh. 1:10-11  Now these are thy servants and thy people, whom thou hast redeemed by thy great power, and by thy strong hand. [11] O Lord, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king’s cupbearer.

Psalm 73:28  But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all thy works.

Hebrews 11:6   But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

 Five Thoughts on Prayer

1.We have more faith when we please God   1 John 3:21-22

2.We must approach God with the right motives. Matthew 6:5-15
3.Expectation based on his word.  John 16:23.

4. Approach the Father in the name of his son Jesus .  John 14:14

5. Pray the Bible. John 15:7

6. Come as a little child. Mark 10:15

Matthew 21:22  And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Mark 11:22-24  And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. [23] For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. [24] Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
