“Getting Dressed for the Wedding” by Richard Daughtridge
I’m officiating a wedding next week end. What if I showed up in a t-shirt and shorts, barefoot and ungroomed?
Should they invite me to the reception?
Today we want to look at the eternal wedding in which we will be the bride (people that will marry Christ).
Are you getting dressed?
- The Traditions of wedding dress.
- Value of the Bride.
- Groom defends his honor.
- The best man.
Rev. 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
Rev. 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
Luke 15:22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
1. Clothed with Servanthood
Mark 15:17 And they clothed him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about his head,
2. Clothed with. Humility
1 Peter 5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
3. Clothed with Righteousness
Rev. 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
4. Clothed with Wisdom
Rev. 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
5. Clothed with Destiny
Rev. 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
6. Clothed with Armor
Ephes. 6:11 Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
