“Disciplines of a Christian” by Pastor Richard Daughtridge

Value is a term we use to determine worth. What’s your net worth?

Most psychologist would probably agree that worth should be measured in relationships rather than possessions. Today I hope  we will increase in Value. The check is not in the mail. We may receive it from the person seated beside us.

Value is a gift that God allows us to give to each other.

We give this gift through touch, through gesture, through deed, through respect and through words. It’s a discipline that requires choice and one in which we can excel.

Words of Christ:

Matthew 25:36  Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me

Matthew 25:38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

Matthew 25:43-44  I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. [44] Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

Matthew 25:45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

Leviticus 25:14  And if thou sell ought unto thy neighbour, or buyest ought of thy neighbour’s hand, ye shall not oppress one another:

Romans 13:8  Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

Romans 16:16   Salute one another with an holy kiss. The churches of Christ salute you.

Galatians 5:13    For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

Galatians 5:26  Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

Ephes. 4:32    And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

Col. 3:13   Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

Col. 3:16  Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Hebrews 3:13  But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

1 Thes. 5:11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

Hebrews 10:24-25   And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: [25] Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
