PASTOR’S MESSAGE “Majesty – Maintenance – Mission – Mix”

Mix (Becoming One in a Mixer Called Life)

1. Unity

Psalm 133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

2.  Caring

Acts 2:44-45 And all that believed were together, and had all things common; [45] And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

3.  Respect

2 Cor. 8:7 Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.

4. Party

Acts 2:46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

5. Doctrine

Ephes. 4:14-16 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; [15] But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: [16] From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

6. Goals

2 Tim. 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

2 Cor. 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

1 Tim. 1:12 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;

2 Tim. 4:5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

What can we accomplish together in 2010?

  • Magesty, (the honor God deserves)
  • Maintenance (The discipleship that brings change)
  • Mission (Plans and goals to serve)
  • Mix (Let’s have a Celebration and Party)

Series: “Majesty – Maintenance – Mission – Mix”

Sermon: “Mapping Out Our Mission” by Pastor Richard Daughtridge

Read together Matthew 22:1-14

The wedding invitations are printed.

“Addressed to Whosoever Will”

Humanity waits for us to deliver the invitations.

Bridal garments are being readied. Heaven’s banquet halls are being prepared.

Our mission has never been more defined nor more important.

Matthew 22:9 Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.

Romans 10:15  And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Mission #1 Wedding announcement. (Gospel)

1. Content of Announcement

John 3:16-18 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

2. Conditions of Announcement

1. Accept that you are a sinner

Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

Romans 5:12“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”

    2.    Be willing to turn from sin (repent)

Luke 13:5 Jesus said: “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”

Acts 17:30 “And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:”

      3.    Believe that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried, and rose from the dead.

St. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners. Christ died for us.”

Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

      4.   Call on Christ through  prayer to accept forgiveness and welcome the Holy Spirit into your life. (RSVP)

Romans 10:10 “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

      God’s Part

John 1:12“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:”

2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

Mission # 2 Make Disciples ( Growing Process)

Matthew 28:19-20 NKJV Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

      John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

Hebrews 10:25 “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”

2 Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”

Mission  # 3 Teach and share what you’ve been taught.

Mark 16:15 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”

1 Corinthians 9:16 “For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!”

Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
