August 17th Sermon Notes

Pray To the Father

1. John 16:23

And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

Pray In Jesus Name

2. John 14:13

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

Pray In The Spirit

3. Romans 8:26

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Pray According To His Word

4. John 15:7

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Pray In Faith

5. James 1:6

But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

Pray With Thanksgiving

6. Phillipians 4:6

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Pray Within His Will

7. Matthew 7:11

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

  2. Helen Troxell Says:

Hi Pastor… Thought the sermon today was very informative and never thought of all that should be included in my prayers. It is good to be reminded that we should not take our prayers for granted. I remembered that our Mom always told us kids that we should always close our prayers with “in Jesus name we pray” and that it was His will not our’s. She has been gone for 30 years now and I spoke with my sister Cathy today and she remembered how she taught us to pray. Thanks for setting up Jacob’s website… it is very nice. We are truly blessed to have you and Robin at Jacob’s. God bless….. Helen Troxell
